History
Prior to your consultation we will ask you to complete a detailed medical and dental history. This is important as it will enable us to provide safe treatment and also to advise you of any impact on your general health or prescribed medications may have on any treatment options. The dental section also brings to light any cosmetic concerns you might have or problems you wish to discuss. Finally there is a screening section for Tempero-Mandibular Disorders (TMD) which may include; stiff necks, headaches, click/popping jaw joints and tooth grinding/bruxism.

Our main priority is to keep our patients happy and healthy. To do this the first question we ask is "How are we able to help you?"
Detailed examination
Your mouth will then be examined gently in detail using high magnification and digital photographs where appropriate. Any necessary x-rays will be taken to provide a complete overview of your mouth so that a precise and detailed treatment plan may be produced.
Soft tissue screening
We routinely screen all our patients for oral cancer at every examination.
Tooth health
Healthy teeth should be strong and fit together with a good bite. Decay, chips, cracks, abscesses, poor/worn or ill-fitting, restorations are all signs that the mouth is not as health as it could be.
Peridontal(Gum) Examination
The gums should be pink, firm and show not signs of inflammation. Your gums will be examined for any signs of gingivitis and periodontitis and the results and treatment necessary to resolve this will be included in your treatment plan.
